Linalool is an element of multiple essential oils such as orange, lavender, rose, rosewood and corriander which holds a floral scent. Whilst in a pure form it isn't a skin allergen, when oxidized and used in cosmetic purposes allergic reactions can appear. Recently one of my closest friend was tested to extreme lengths until it was discovered that Linalool was no longer a product she could skip hand in hand down the road with, so after countless research and hunting, this my palski is for you. The linalool free drugstore makeup edition...
Primer, +L'Oreal Paris UK & Ireland Lumi Magique Primer adds that subtle glow to your skin whilst locking everything in place for no matter what life throws at your face all day.
+BourjoisUK 123 Perfect CC Cream adds the most wonderful amount of coverage, evening out your skin tone whilst feeling incredibly light on your skin. Perfect for those warmer months where you don't want anything heavy smothered all over your face.
+BourjoisUK Healthy Mix foundation is one of my favourite drugstore foundations out there and mainly because it is the closest thing to one of my favourite high-end foundations Vita Lumiere Aqua from Chanel... Another lightweight foundation which blends beautifully to your skin and is buildable if you want a bit more coverage without leaving the beginnings of a cake lying around.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer has definitely been a grower on me. At first I wasn't a fan but more recently I've found it creeping back in and my opinions beginning to change. Providing wonderful coverage under the eyes brightening them and both on the odd spot of redness this badboy is not a bad drugstore concealer at all...
+BourjoisUK Healthy Balance Powder holds the powder solution of the drugstore world. There's no flour being added to the cake, just a simple finely milled solution to setting your base in place ready for you to put the world to rights, or add more products ...
+Soap & Glory Solar Powder is an incredible bronzer which instantly warms up the face leaving it looking sun-kissed and untouchable. Equipped with both a lighter and darker shade you can either pick which shade you want, or grab your brush and swirl them both together, my preferred option...
+Gosh Cosmetics UK Flower Power blusher certainly puts the life back in your cheeks with a just flushed fluttered appearance and being completely matte it just gives that colour that you need. Whilst a bit of powder can be found left in the pan once you've swirled and popped, fear not, this powder is finely milled and has serious staying power.
+The Body Shop UK Brush on Radiance beads add that luminous glow from within finish to your skin. They aren't adding that disco ball appearance but instead add that subtle love struck glow, dreamy dreamy dreamy.
+Too Faced Cosmetics Natural Eyes Palette holds some of the most beautiful eyeshadows out there with excellent pigmentation, a smooth formula and incredible longevity. Taking you from day to night with neutral colours it's also great for travelling!
Rimmel Scandal Eyes eyeliner sets a high standard for both drugstore and high end makeup. The formulation of these is incredible, the pigmentation mind-blowing and they really really don't budge. I've got these in a few colours and they're just the bomb.com...just sayin'.
+Maybelline UK The Colossal Express 100% Black Mascara provides that secret weapon to your lashes, volume. I know my friend who cannot play with Linalool anymore has the most incredible eyelashes ever to exist on the planet, however for those of us who are not fortunate enough to be blessed with these, Maybelline, thank you!
+Benefit Cosmetics UK & Ireland Gimme Brow gives 'dem brows thickness by adding tiny little baby fibres, but fear not, they're not crispy or strandy, they be natural as brows can be!
Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Audacious adds the most wonderful throw of orange to your lips, perfect for these warmer months, warmer months here in the UK that is! A lot of lip products I have seem to contain Linalool however this particular one from Revlon didn't, and it happens to be one of my fave Spring/Summer lip colours, winner!
It became very apparent whilst going through all my makeup products that Linalool is a feature in an awful lot, which I can only assume is for aesthetic reasons, smell. For those of you who are also struggling with a Linalool allergy fear not, if you get readingy products labels it isn't hard to pick out, I found it to be near the top of most labels. There are a fair few products which you can still use, so just get those beady eyes out and you'll be amazed with what you can still pop on your facial area!
